Jordan Allyn is a journalist and a playwright. She writes about the environment through character-driven narratives for both the page and the stage. She is currently an MFA candidate at Yale University’s David Geffen School of Drama, a reporter for the New Haven Independent, and a member of the Yale Journalism Initiative. She also works as a Research Assistant for Emily Bazelon (New York Times Magazine) and as a Teaching Fellow for the course "Writing the Television Drama" at Yale College. As a scholar, Jordan studies the docudrama genre to analyze the intersections between theater and journalism. She also has a background in audio producing and won a Webby Award as the Associate Producer for Season 3 of the critically acclaimed podcast Dead Eyes.
