But who is she?
Jordan Allyn is a journalist, playwright, and director. She is currently an MFA candidate at Yale University’s David Geffen School of Drama and a reporter for the New Haven Independent. In making theater, she draws on reportage by incorporating docudrama theater practices into her work. She has studied with and apprenticed renowned artists including Larissa FastHorse, Ellen McLaughlin, Ron Van Lieu, and Andy Bragen. Her reporting can be found in In These Times Magazine, New Haven Independent, and Yakima Herald-Republic. She also has a background in audio producing and won a Webby Award while working as the Associate Producer for Season 3 of the critically acclaimed podcast Dead Eyes. As a journalist, her beats include climate, labor, and politics—all topics that inform her playwriting as well.
